Our world can be a stressful place. For women, experiencing anxiety and depression is becoming the norm. Whether it’s waking up in the morning full of dread, a racing mind that won’t stop, an anxious gut or looping thoughts - mental health issues can rob us of our ability to enjoy the moment, and dampen our love for life.
I’ve always had an interest in helping people. It’s what drew me to the social work field. Over the last 14 years, through my work with many different agencies and as a therapist in private practice, I dove into anxiety and mental health with many women. What I found is that even though I offered cognitive behaviour therapy (which research has shown to be as effective as pharmaceutical medications), women still weren’t able to totally eliminate their anxiety.
It wasn’t until my own health entered into a crisis, and my anxiety became so debilitating that I started having heart palpitations to MasterChef, that I began to understand the missing link: the biological causes of anxiety and mental health must also be addressed.
Today, I combine my training as a therapist, functional diagnostic nutrition practitioner and a yoga instructor to truly offer you a mind-body approach to healing. I offer 1:1 traditional therapy as well as functional health coaching. What this means is that I can run lab tests that look for mold, gut infections and mineral imbalances and uncover the physiological contributors to anxiety, depression and other mental health issues.
I am also the founder of The Holistic Anxiety Fix - a 12 week online program that helps women crush anxiety and embrace life with calm confidence. A few times a year you will also find me leading anxiety retreats a few times a year.
